G'day from Central Otago

by Altan -

Hi
thanks for the add.
I'm a chopper fan, but abandoned my chopper build when the government changed the brake rules.
This is my bitza softail. It is registered as a 1988 fxst. I didn't keep the details from Trademe, but one of the previous owners knew what he was doing and upgraded it, including Delkron cases. I changed the gearbox to a later year. The one it came with was hard to get out of second gear, and nearly got me wiped out by a truck rapidly coming up behind me. I also changed the starter,  clutch and chaincase at the same time.
I'm not a fan of wide tanks, so put the King sporty tank on it.
l plan to put 5 degree trees on it and 2" over forks and 6 bend bars. I would love to chop out the softail and put a rigid back end on it, but I don't think that'll happen.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum!
I'll add some more pics once I get it finished. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like with a bit more rake.
I'm also thinking about lowering the back end and put a lower guard on it.
Cheers
