If you mean the lumbar support/stop Dave, then I am not sure as yet. We talked about the saddleman type of seat and they have them straight so it may be that this is the way he will do it but I gave him the outlines of what I needed and left the detail to him as he is very experienced reshaping and recovering bike seats for rider comfort and understands many of the faults of the oem seats as he is a rider himself.

Sorry yes that's precisely what I meant haha. Was more meaning the left-to-right butt cheek line that supports the lower back is straight left-to-right, which doesn't look too comfy 😅
I agree that the straight lower back area up-and-down is comfy, saddleman style.
Look forward to seeing the end product!

If you think about it as I had to when looking at that area on some of the custom seats, which made me analyse exactly how the fit would contact the backside and I feel it is a positive with that part being straight from side to side. If it had a curve to exactly fit the shape of our backside at that point there would be equal pressure right accross the ass with the end of the spine also having contact but with the flat going accross it allows for contact with both ass cheeks and keeping the spine protected from pressure.Dave wrote: ↑9 May 2024, 9:18 am Sorry yes that's precisely what I meant haha. I got a text to say he was stitching the new cover and asked about any decorative stitching as I had mentioned a couple of ideas when I called in to see him and I have gone with a blue diamond stitching on the seat top.

Makes sense to me!
That blue diamond stitching should look 🔥

Got a pic from Craig of the finished seat. I am going through on wed (trailoring the bike) to pick it up and will no doubt take helmet for a quick scoot while I am there. 4 hr tip each way but well worth the drive to get it.

Looks good! Liking how high the diamonds are, looks quite soft and comfy.

Re: What upgrades are you making to your bike?
Really impressed with the seat. Oldest friend came with me on the run up to get the seat so that was a good start. Bike out of the trailor after a bit of a yarn, seat on and away for a bit of a ride to test it and it is better than I had anticipated. It is like it locks me into position and the comfort level is dramatically better than the oem seat it replaced. Craig had increased the height of the lumbar face and while it was only by a 1/2 inch it is readily felt in the support at my lower back and as an added bonus it gives the pillion a very minor upsweep at the front to match what was already at the back so Lyne will have an improved seat as well. I slid back on to the pillion and it will give added stability, fore and aft, as well as the extra padded comfort.

One more thing I will get taken care of in town next week. I had put a chin spoiler on a couple of weeks back but it is gloss black and I think there is enough of the blue paint from the tins to get that done as well so will call in to see dave and leave it with him to sort for me.

Here is how you can check your cam chain tensioner without removing the cover. Trask assault cam chest cover for twin cam and m8.
