VRod tail light

by Dave -

My friend owns a 2013 VRod and is wondering whether it's necessary to remove the seat to take off the tail light. He's having trouble figuring out the method to remove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is it the square shaped one or the long curved one that goes under the guard?

If it's all factory, I believe there's a hole above/in the licence plate mount that you stick a screwdriver in and push towards the front of the bike to release a clip, to pop the light out.

Someone else with a Rod or experience may be able to confirm.
